Nolan: 22 Weeks

Our little man is officially addicted to the WubbaNub pacifier. He has 3: an elephant for his crib, a lion for his car seat and a giraffe for his swing/play area. We first had reservations about him possibly getting addicted but now we don’t care. It’s actually a lifesaver because it will calm him down and keep him happy 96% of the time. Other times he’s just super tired or hungry so nothing but food or sleep will do the trick. Why did we choose this pacifier over others? Well, for one it’s attached to a stuffed animal–doubles as a toy! Plus, its hard to lose and stays put where it should most the time. It’s machine washable too! Nolan has gotten to the stage where he can take it out of his mouth and most the times aim to put it back in his mouth. When we dangle it just out of reach he starts shaking his head with his mouth open, eyes wide staring at it like its a treat that a puppy longs for. Super cute when he does it! Yeah it may be “bad” that he’s addicted but we know he will eventually wean off–even if it’s when he’s 2 or 3 years old. As long as we have a remedy to keep him happy, we are all in!!

Meet his elephant, lion and giraffe WubbaNub bubbies! Babiators courtesy of his cousin, Lorelai.

Ever since he mastered that roll he’s been doing what we call “baby push-ups”. Working on building that upper body strength. Check out the concentration on his face. Going to be buff like his dad and uncles.

Is he my kid or what? Check out that camera dangling around his neck! *wink*

We put together a makeshift baby desk for him using the bumbo seat and a wooden stool that he got as a gift from my old boss. Yes, I know the bumbo is pink but it was a hand me down from cousin Lorelai–he doesn’t mind so we don’t either. Nolan loves the Dr. Seuss baby board books that we read to him daily. He’s always reaching out to help us hold it and looks at our mouths and back to the book when we read the words aloud. Super inquisitive mind!! Costco has them for $7.99 for a pack of 4 books. Total steal compared to the regular book store price of $4.99 each!

Short clip of Nolan riding on our shoulders for the first time and he had a blast!! I’m going to need to work out more to keep up with this energetic guy.
