Nolan: 23 Weeks

My little Noly Poly looks to have progressed so much in the last week. In just a matter of days his motor skills as well as hand/eye coordination seem to have developed by leaps and bounds. He definitely plays with his wubbanub pacifier a lot now. Passing it back and forth between both hands, holds onto the pacifier ring to point it into his own mouth, constantly takes it out, plays with it and puts it back in. He also enjoys standing (with assistance). I didn’t get it when parents would say “they’re growing so fast” but now I get it. This is like a huge milestone for my guy. If I’m this happy with such a small milestone I can only imagine that my heart will burst with pride and joy when he sits, crawls, stands, walks, talks, reads me a book, rides a bike, gets straight A’s, wins the spelling bee, graduates high school and becomes a professional baseball player. =) Haha, I know, I dream BIG for my little guy.

It’s been a full week of solids for Nolan. He warmed up to rice cereal pretty quick. He LOVES it and just gobbles every little bit of it up. Peas though is another story. You can gauge for yourself in the video below as to how much he “loves” it. Haha! He takes it better when mixed with the rice cereal. This week we’ll introduce carrots. Hope that will go down easier. I will look into making our own baby food for Nolan next month when I get a break from all this editing madness. Any suggestions on baby food makers or recipe books are greatly appreciated!

So how did the lactation cookies net out? I think I’m producing just a teenie bit more; it’s hard to tell since I’m so busy and I don’t get to pump at the exact same time and number of times each day. I’m guessing 1 oz more per day; not a huge difference but the cookies were yummy! I think it would work better if I weren’t so stressed. =/

This past week I tested out making an “Auto Awesome” video via the new Google Photos app. It really does automatically make awesome videos!! So easy to use too! Try it if you have Google+ 4.2 and Photos 4.3. It doesn’t work on my phone since I have Photos 4.2, but does work on my Nexus 7 tablet. It has different themes you can select from as well as tons of music. All the photos I take from my phone are automatically backed up to my Google+ account so it makes it very easy to access and create. This is of course especially nifty for a busy mom like me, I don’t have much time so quick + easy is always top on my list.

“A day in the life of Nolan” from this past Saturday. I chose the “Hi 8” theme and extended it from a short to medium length video feature. See how much Nolan dislikes peas, loves bathtime, plays with his pacifier, plays peek-a-boo with his own blankie and gets down with his aunties. Enjoy!

Busted out a wide angle lens for this week’s shoot. Nolan’s been making a face that we’ve dubbed “the Joker”. He constantly does this for some very odd reason!

In this black + white series he’s showing me how strong he is with his push-ups. “Ready, mommy? Here I go! See how strong I am!!??”
