Nolan: 31 Weeks

We’ve been swaddling Nolan since birth for over night sleep. As a newborn he would always startle and wake himself so swaddling was what he liked and what worked for us. We finally gave it a shot at 7 months to leave him free and unswaddled. I’m proud to say he’s been doing quite well the last few nights considering he’s been on lock down for all his life. It just takes him longer to initially fall asleep since he now does not know what to do with this new found freedom and wants to roll over and play instead of falling right asleep. We stand over him to make sure he doesn’t roll over and he ends up falling asleep with his arms wide spread like a star fish. So proud of my little guy for adjusting so quickly!!

For Nolan’s 31st week we spent it at Disneyland! I was already there to shoot an engagement session so I brought along the family so we could spend a couple extra hours at the park together after I wrapped. Nolan and Rob wandered around together for a few hours before I met up with them to ride on a few baby friendly rides. We rode on King Arthur’s Carousel, Dumbo, the tea cups and Astro Blasters. Nolan’s 1st visit to the park was at 11 weeks so taking him again now is completely different. He’s looking around a lot more and taking notice of many things. Loves to people watch and enjoys all the sights. I’m so tempted to get passes again but I think we’ll hold off until he’s a bit older to enjoy it more.

We snapped a couple shots before I met up with the couple to start their e-session.

We caught a family taking a selfie!! Plus, who can actually say they’ve slept at Disneyland?

Nolan enjoyed all the lights from the carousel and tea cup ride.

Us on the tea cups together. Whoopeee!!

Astro Blasters was very different and new for Nolan. The dark rooms, crazy lights and odd noises may have surprised/scared him but he was ok throughout the ride. I was holding him up with one arm so I felt him jump a few times from the surprise of things. I admit I was a bit focused on blasting aliens to take close notice of his reaction to things. Teaming up with mommy paid off though cuz we beat daddy! (haha, not really! the system somehow swapped our scores in my favor.)

For all of you Nolan laugh attack addicts, here’s another video to satisfy your weekly dose.
