Oh my! So much has happened since the last update that I can’t possibly recap it all. We’re still in Europe but currently in Paris. From Amsterdam we travelled to a charming, romantic little town in Belgium named Brugge. Then we were off to Brussels, the capital of Belgium. After a couple days in each of those Belgium cities we took the high speed train (which travelled at a max speed of 186 mph) to Paris and have been here since Sunday. We’ll be here a whole week while I cram in 2 photo sessions and a wedding. Then we’re off to London which is where he will have his next weekly photos done.

Here are some of the other major things that I can recall:
*Nolan can now sign “more”, “go crazy”, “I don’t know” and “peace”. He’s picking up on things VERY quickly now, it’s so amazing.
*He has a 7th tooth growing on top.
*It is VERY difficult travelling this long with a baby. I’m not so sure I can ever do it again–only if I MUST.

Sorry for the lack of photos in this post as I have not had the time to go thru all the photos we’ve taken so you’ll just have to settle for what we took on his weekly milestone.

Check out all 6 of his teeth in full view here. The 7th is still growing.

Our first international family trip is well underway. I had several heart attacks packing but at least we’re all in Amsterdam and having a wonderful time. I gave up more than half my own luggage for Nolan’s belongings. What a huge sacrifice for a girl to make. Since we’re on the road with very little time and very slow internet access to blog I gotta keep it short.

Nolan did pretty well on the 10 hour flight over and is adjusting to the time change as well. It took him roughly 2 days to adjust. I think he misses his free time in crawling and exploring since we constantly have him strapped to either a stroller or to ourselves. He’s also picked up on a lot of “tricks”. He’ll do his usual “milk” sign but now will also “raise the roof/dance”, clap his hands, and put his hands to his cheeks with “oh no”.

I started 5 weeks of bonding time off 10 days ago and I think it’s actually working–meaning, Nolan has bonded to me quite well, maybe even too well. He prefers me over his dad about 75% of the time. Even when we give him free reign to crawl and go almost wherever he pleases, he still comes right up to me and demands to be held and acknowledged. He rarely ever does that to Rob though! Nolan will definitely have a hard time when I go back to work in 3.5 weeks.

So what are we up to during this bonding time? Well, we’re headed to Europe! We’ll be visiting Amsterdam, Belgium, Paris and London for 2.5 weeks. Not all pleasure though since I’ll be photographing a wedding and 2 engagement sessions in Paris. I just barely started packing and it looks to be quite daunting. I am trying to avoid packing a separate luggage for Nolan but this little guy, even with his tiny clothes, seems to need the most stuff out of us all. Oh and don’t forget about the hundred pounds of photography gear we need to lug around from country to country. Please pray that I survive this trip. Thanks!

I still can’t get over that this is my child.

Nolan signing “milk” (opening and closing his hands). This is the first “sign” he picked up on and loves to show if off.

Within the last few days he started screaming A LOT! No clue why.

From crazy screaming child to sweet innocent boy. Bipolar? Maybe.

*All of these photos were taken on the 5D Mark III with the 40mm pancake lens. My 50mm 1.2 is getting some TLC.

Nolan has been watching ‘Baby Signing Time’ for the last few months and is completely mesmerized by it. We would at times watch other TV shows with him but nothing captivates his attention like this particular learning show. He’s started to show signs of catching on to some of it–the most prominent being “milk”. Other things he can also do is clap, high-five and peek-a-boo (covering his own eyes). Nolan’s getting so smart and picking up on things so quickly now. Rob claims he can even stand on his own for a few seconds.

Super excited for Easter though he looks more like a girl here with all that pink.

It was a bit too cold at the park for Nolan and he wasn’t afraid to cry about it.

I love his genuine smile.

I was away in Puerto Vallarta photographing a destination wedding this past weekend and was gone for nearly 4 days. Since it was the longest that I have ever been away from Nolan we had a lot of Google Hangout sessions to stay in touch. Below are screenshots of some of my favorites with him smiling wide-eyed, playing peek-a-boo, clapping his hands and posing like a little model.

This one below was the very first session we had. I like how both Rob and Nolan are in it with Rob recording our session on the GoPro.

Nolan had a visitor last week: cousin Lorelai. They get along so well!!

My baby continues to learn so quickly–so amazing to see it all! As his personality and list of “tricks” develops so does my love and attachment to him. In the beginning he was just a blob that ate/slept all day; didn’t play with his toys, babble up a storm or laugh like it was the silliest thing he’s ever seen. I’ve been sad thinking about how much I’m going to miss him while away shooting a wedding in Mexico this weekend–3.5 days!  At least he can “forget” that I exist when I’m out of sight but I can’t ever forget about him.  Hopefully I won’t resort to crying myself to bed each night. Boohoo!

In other news:

*Nolan’s other front tooth started coming in a few days ago so now both his front teeth are coming in at roughly the same time.
*Earlier this week I made him some chicken chao (porridge) and he LOVES it! Yay!! He’s truly my son after all since Robert HATES chao.
*He’s become even more attached to me than last week. Didn’t think it was possible.
*Down to roughly 1 nap a day now. Some days he’ll have 2 which will keep him up longer before bedtime.

Nolan turns 10 months on Friday, the day I fly out to Mexico. Unless his daddy can take over photographing duties, I won’t be able to post any photos or blog. Maybe I can ask my niece, Kortney, to come over and take a few shots of the little guy for me. Hehehe.
